Andy has just completed his second marathon in two weeks, this leaves a further three to go for Andy to complete his 12 marathons in 12 months. Andy is completing the impressive feat in aid of The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, the chosen charity of the School Minibus Company.
Andy’s 8th marathon was a lovely, scenic run along the Thames, 8 laps out and back along the towpath, which had a Dr Who theme to it, hence the enormous Tardis medal! Whilst this was a low key event with about 60 runners in total, Andy found it extremely enjoyable.
The 9th marathon was a contrast and was quite frankly “brutal”! The inaugural Bovington Tank Marathon saw Andy run across restricted military area and a variety of terrains, including trail, swamp, woodland, sand, concrete and rubble. The different terrains lead to Andy gaining a lovely blister on the arch of his right foot by mile 10!

Finishing an impressive 79th out of 500 was an incredible feeling. Andy is taking a well-deserved relaxing break over Christmas, and then it’s back to training for January’s run which will be his first Ultra Marathon (28.2 miles) along the river Arun.
Here is Andy proudly displaying both his medals.
